Reading Suggestions

Hi Everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for useful education books to read (i.e. teacher books)? Either gen ed or special education? I have free time on my hands and want to put it to good use. I've already read The Book Whisperer and am working through The Daily 5 again.

Thanks for your help! Hope all is going well in your lives and classrooms!

Our school did a book study on "What Really Matters In Response to Intervention" by Richard Allington and most teachers liked it. http://books.google.com/books/about/What_really_matters_in_response_to_inter.html?id=OUkGMwAACAAJ

I haven't read this book, but I hear it's good. "The Special Educator's Toolkit" by Cindy Golden http://www.amazon.com/Special-Educators-Toolkit-Everything-Classroom/dp/1598570978/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_1

Any of Patricia Cunningham's books are pretty good.

As a special ed teacher, you might be interested in the next book, but it is filled with lot's of jargon and it is a much tougher read than the other books. It tries to bust myths about autism. "The Science and Fiction of Autism" by Laura Schreibman
